Mountain Mike and Owsley
Originally a generational Wisconsin dairy farm kid, Mike left the farm for college to pursue what interested him. The result was a major in Geography/Philosophy and multiple minors. A very short stint in a cubicle reaffirmed that he was meant to work outside. Mike enjoyed a career as a land surveyor, and in 2002 it led him to explore Oregon, and the PNW. Mike soon developed a passion for climbing the volcanoes, and an almost instant realization that sliding down was "the way."
In the fall of 2015, Mike relocated to the Wallowas, and immediately fell under the spell of CB and Wallowa Alpine Huts. After 10 seasons he has come to realize 3 things.
1.) The Wallowas are sacred
2.) I am meant to serve these mountains and those who choose to travel in them
3.) I will only participate in work in which my furry companion, "Owsley" can join me.
Farming slopes beats the hell outta milking cows.
